Just a natural reaction if you have followed WHU long enough!

Re: West Ham v QPR - Official Match Thread 2-0 FT
I don't think we played that great to day, but certainly the intent was there. Just half a yard or one little touch off carving them open, which was a bit frustrating but also pleasing that we were still comfortably in control.

QPR are really poor and I'll be surprised if they ever get off the bottom of the table.

Adrian made one decent save from a free kick which shouldn't have been.
Didn't think we played that well but the sheer effort and industry from the front two stop teams building attacks and serve as extra midfielders as well as stretching defences.
Very pleased with the points and clean sheet.

I think we could achieve more than that Lab

I caught the last 25 mins and thought to myself . . . . We are good enough to avoid relegation. Am I sad or realistic ?

Fantastic to see them playing like this, really enjoying it.

You've got to feel for Rio. He obviously loves his football, but this has to be a season too far.

Great set up, first half pretty much destroyed qpr.

Song is looking like the best midfielder I have seen at west ham since brooking, and he is only 75% match fit, he is a player.

Valencia and Sakho really start our defence high up the pitch.

I like west ham this season.

Sign of a good side - very average performance but 3 points. Not over-optimistic to expect a top half finish with this squad we have. Encouraging times.

Who booed and at what?

I presume at the audacity of bringing Nolan on?

Great result because it sits us nicely in the league table, they can soak up the positivity over the fortnight and continue so for a good few games if not a season.

Disgusted to hear booing, sack the cunts I say they're surplus to requirements.

Downing has been a breath of fresh air he should without a dught be starting for England.Song has also been outstanding on recent form he should make anyone's starting 11.

You've got to give credit to Sam too. He went for it today with three strikers and a couple of attacking midfielders in the starting lineup.

I thought we were pretty convincing. QPR never really looked in the game. Time for Harry to go.

We are a lot better with our real midfield engine, so some great points to pick up here.

Well we're a squad full of half-decent pros. Mid-table written all over us

This coming from the man who said Newcastle made DEPRESSINGLY GOOD signings in the summer.

I assume you just meant DEPRESSING?

Couple of his balls inside the full back were worth the price of ADMISSION

Always thought Downing was a good player, just suffered lack of form after Liverpool.
The first game he came on he took on a couple of players straight away.
Glad he'd come good.

In Downing, I can't believe I'm looking at the same fucking player. Such is the gap in his level of performances compared to last year.

At the time, I couldn't believe we'd parted with money for him. Now he looks like an absolute steal.

Re: West Ham v QPR - Official Match Thread 2-0 FT
Routine win without playing particularly well against what was one of the poorest technical sides I've seen with Premiership badges on their shirts for a long time.
Thought Amalfitano much better in the second half but Zarate peripheral and Valencia ran around to little effect.
Good to get a clean sheet but I imagine this QPR team will struggle to score against anyone. Only Zamora when he first came on and Taarabt in what were probably 46 inch waist shorts were any threat.
